By developing the Common New Statistical Information System (Gemeinsames Neues Statistisches Informations-System - GENESIS), the Federal Statistical Office and the statistical offices of the Laender have set up new information databases in order to make the wide range of official statistics available via the Internet in an easy-to-use manner.
